Our very first post in what is shaping up to be something great! Please read our introduction to see what the Maryland Science Center Blog is all about and what we hope to achieve from it.

Thank you for visiting our new blog! 2009 promises to be a productive time for the Science Center and we want you to be a part of it.

Our staff, along with guest bloggers, will contribute commentary on the latest in scientific discovery as well as the latest in Science Center news. Join our community by suggesting a discussion on a subject that interests you or by simply reading up on what others have said. We welcome those who love science, those who are curious about science and those who want to learn more about the Maryland Science Center.

The new year certainly falls into a difficult time for all of us but we view this challenging adventure as positive thing, so you can bet your beakers that we’ll have bigger and better goodies in store no matter what.

Keep checking back for frequent posts that will outline family-friendly events here at the Science Center (think: Darwin’s Birthday Party, Love You Day, Earth Day, Bubble Days and more!) as well as new engagements for grown-ups only.

The Maryland Science Center is famous for being able to show the fun in science but the underlying foundation of our establishment is education. We strive for that perfect blend of exciting and educational and are constantly looking for ways to serve it up perfectly. To achieve this, we must first start with facts and research! Our expert staff will post regularly about science progress in the news and we encourage your comments! Look for discussions on topics like global warming and going green, the truth about stem cells, space milestones, human health and paleontology, for example. The sky is the limit (and we have the Observatory to prove it)!

We as a staff feel that it’s crucial to establish a stronger relationship with you, our visitors, and this blog is the first step. So please, take a peek around and make yourselves at home. We hope you’ll stop by often!
