From MSC to the Space Station and Back

By Chris

On Friday, May 29, local astronaut Richard Arnold will present the Maryland Science Center with a spacesuit that traveled more than 5.3 million miles and made more than 200 orbits of the Earth onboard Space Shuttle Discovery during its March 2009 mission.  The space suit was sent into space specifically for the Maryland Science Center and will be available for visitors to examine in the SpaceLink exhibition.

Mr. Arnold will also share the experiences of his most recent space mission with several school groups.  The highlights include his work servicing the International Space Station and his two spacewalks.  The 20-minute presentations, which are open to the public, will be offered at 10:40 and 11:20 on the Maryland Science Center’s demonstration stage.

After the presentations, Mr. Arnold will be available to answer questions and sign autographs from noon – 12:30 pm.
